It is forecast to be dry for most of the session tomorrow, with rain at the very start - so bring waterproofs but I will have the large shelter up! You never know, we might catch a rainbow!
It will be sheltered from the rain in the woods on Friday, so get outdoors to a place you know you'll be dry!
Rain shelters up, we'll be hunting for signs of spring, making bird feeders and a bird hide...and practising our tiny voices to see if we can entice some wildlife our way!
The weather will be warmer so be brave, wrap up and come outside and enjoy yourselves - it's great once you're out!
Hi, weather looks good for Friday! Dry but cloudy, and it's a balmy 2 degrees! Lets go out to play!
Woodland play is on this Friday 25th January! Come and have some snowy fun, hot drinks, snacks and lovely learning in the outdoors for your little ones.
Forest school today 18th January is cancelled due to snow - although the roads are clear the car park and slope to it will not be and we have had a number of cancellations. Have a lovely day playing in the snow and see you next week!
We at expecting snowy fun this Friday, so bring your sledge and snow suits! If we have to cancel the session, I will post a notice on this site and the facebook page by 8am on Friday.
Fingers crossed the roads are clear and I will have hot chocolate and yummy flapjacks for you all!
We will meet as a group for an informal wander, play and snack exploring the woodlands at Ashdown House. Invite your friends to this free get-together - I can answer any questions about forest school and the flora and fauna we will meet on the way!
This is not a forest school session, there is no charge, more a chance to meet other like minded parents and get the kids outside for a play together. By joining this group voluntarily you accept that the safety and welfare of you and your child are your own. Read the weather forecast before you come and drive / dress appropriately. This is not an organised event, just an informal get together of parents.
We will set off for a child-paced wander at 10am prompt from the car park. (Arrive by 9.45). Bring your own snacks, drinks, flasks and picnic blankets.Wellies, waterproofs, warm clothes, hats, gloves recommended. The woods are fairly level and you could possibly use an all-terrain buggy, but a child carrier is recommended (the ground may be too wet and muddy for a buggy).
If it is raining, the walk will still be on, but bring full waterproofs (top and bottoms) and we can puddle splash through the woods for half an hour then head home to get dry and warm!
Woodland Play forest school starts this Friday 18th January in Highworth at the community centre.
We will be celebrating the recent snowfall with lots of themed activities, we have new forest school musical instruments and of course the old favourite campfire, mud kitchen, snacks and hot chocolate, story time and free play will be included. Wrap up warm, bring your friends ( and make new like- minded ones) and lets get outside and enjoy ourselves!
This term is just 3 weeks long so why not try a term for £15? The weather is just going to get better from now!
